Spring Fever

The Monday before last was wonderful! The weather was amazing and it was both Kevin and My day off so we got to spend it together. That will make any day just perfect! I had a ridiculously long to-do list and so we woke up ready to accomplish things. Haha

We spent the first half of the day checking off things like get my oil changed, stop by the pharmacy, pay my car registration before my car gets toed right in front of my apartment. Yes, they can do that and they put a warning sticker on the hubby's car last month so I didn't want to take any risks with mine. lol After checking off a few more things we decided to take our fur baby on a walk.
I forget how much I love taking walks in beautiful weather. It's hard to believe that we were both wearing shorts in February! Roxy loved every second of that walk.

Later we stopped by PetsMart to pick up some food for the puppy and decided to pick out a new color for her. I love it!

I wish I could spend all day everyday with these two!

Weekend Getaway

I planned on posting this almost a month ago but it didn't happen. haha A couple weeks ago I got to go back to Edmond and spend the day with the nephew, try on bridesmaids dresses for one of my good friends wedding, and have dinner with the parents. It was WONDERFUL!

My nephew is still as adorable as the day he was born. Although the poor guy was sick...
He looks just like his dad and a little like my dad. Which I guess means he looks a little like his momma. He is just adorable!

I'm not going to lie...I didn't put him down until I absolutely had to. I drove down on Thursday night but basically spent all day friday with him. My sister knew I wanted to see him Friday so she sneakily asked me if I had any plans, after I said no I quickly realized she was really tricking me into going to lunch with my grandmother and aunt. It isn't a terrible thing but not exactly what I wanted to do on my day off back in my home town. lol
That night I had dinner with my parents at this cute little Mexican Restaurant in OKC. It was really good. They always find fun little hole in the wall restaurants. I don't know how but they do and I have yet to go to one I didn't like. lol

Saturday I got to see one of my good friends that I didn't get to see on my trip down earlier that month. We meet up at Panera and had breakfast. I realized I hadn't seen her since I had moved in July of last year. That is way too long to not see a good friend. I caved and got one of my favorites, the cinnamon crunch bagel. Yummy!

The rest of the day I spent with one of my beasties picking out bridesmaid dresses! I still can't believe so many of my friends, and myself, are married or getting married this summer. We are getting so old. Next thing you know everyone will have their own houses and start having kids! I don't think i'm ready for that step! Haha

The only bad part about the weekend was that the hubby and my little fur baby didn't get to come with me!
I made sure when I got back Saturday night that I spend some time snuggling on the sofa with both of them. I love them!

Roxy the Wheelbarrow

If you have read my earlier blogs you know that my fur baby, Roxy, hand to have knee surgery back in December. They would not let her walk on it AT ALL for the first month and now we still can't get her to use it. We have done several different things that they have suggested but the newest suggestion is quite entraining! lol

The most recent idea they gave us was to tape a marble or something similar on her good paw so that it would force her to use her weak knee. We are seeing some improvement but only once Roxy has been wearing it for a good hour. This is due to how she copes with it at first.

Instead of using her weaker leg to help walk and balance she just lifts her entire back half off the ground and walks like she is in a wheelbarrow race! I'm pretty sure everyone has participated in some form of a wheelbarrow race as a child and knows what I mean. If not, here is a video to show you! lol
Poor girl is actually pretty talented if I do say so myself! haha It kinda defeats the purpose though. She is pretty cute waiting at the door of her daddy to come home. :)

Groupon Fun

It is official...I am no longer a groupon virgin! I finally purchased my first one!

I have been looking for one to get for months now and I finally found one I wanted! Ice Skating Admission for super cheap. The Hubby and I go ice skating at least once a year and we hadn't gone yet so I figured why not!
Kevin actually played hockey growing up so he LOVES to go ice skating!

We went with two of our friends which always makes it more fun! They are such a cute couple!

The hubby spent the entire time racing around the rink. I tried to keep up but I just don't have the smooth skating skills that he does. haha I don't think I'm too bad though. I don't normally fall and I can skate backwards....very, very, very slowly! lol Kevin's favorite thing to do is skate really fast and then right before he runs into you he turns and sprays shaved ice all over you. He is such a goober! We did find out that they have an adult hockey league... I think I know where the Hubby will be spending Sunday afternoons when the next season starts. I don't mind though because I miss going and watching him play. That's what I did every Sunday when we first started dating. I have to admit, he is pretty cute decked out in all his hockey gear! Although I don't know if i'm ready for all that stinky gear to come home with me! I think I may have to think this one through. Haha

LL and I were expecting to freeze so we came dressed for the cold. We forgot that skating inside you don't normally stay cold for long...we ended up taking most of this off pretty quickly. lol
We also found out we were wearing basically the exact same thing under our jackets... tan tanks with white sweaters. haha Great minds think alike! lol

It was a fun friday night!

My Valentine

I had a wonderful Valentines Day! I worked 8-5 which is better than the later shift but still would have been better had I had the entire day off. After work I came home to dinner already cooking by my amazing Hubby!

Filet Mignon with mash potatoes! Yummy! He is so good to me! :) We also had some really good wine! I don't know why but I never like the taste with the first sip but only for that first one! Haha

After dinner he made us a pazooki! If you don't know what is your missing out! A big chocolate chip cookie right out of the oven with ice cream on top! I was going to take a picture but it was gone before I had the chance! Haha we love our cookies and ice cream! :)

The rest of the night was spent snuggling up on the sofa!
I love those nights!

We are going to see The Vow this weekend for our Valentines outing! I can't wait and I'm thrilled that I'm actually going to get the Hubby to go see it! Haha it's like pulling teeth. Lol

Monday Snow Day

It wasn't really a SNOW DAY but the Hubby and I both had a day off from work and there was snow on the ground so we're calling it a snow day!

It was wonderful! I can't imagine not having this amazing man in my life! We got to sleep in which was amazing and for once the Hubby actually slept in with me!! I can never get him to sleep in past 8am. lol

We spent most of the day snuggling together on the sofa watching all our recorded shows. Then I decided to organize all my photo's!

They have been sitting in a big pile in a box for months now!

It was really interesting to go back and look at pictures from throughout high school and even from earlier! Not only did I realize how many pictures I took in high school that I had to sort through but also how lanky and awkward I was as a child! Haha It is crazy to see  how much you change every year and how much you have really done/accomplished in your life!

It took me almost 3 hours to do this! haha

After my photo organizing the Hubby decided to make chili for dinner! First you need to know that Kevin and I don't cook often... and by not often I mean never! Haha But this week we bought groceries and are committed to making dinner every night this week!

He even used our Kitchen Aid mixer that we have only used twice before this to make corn bread muffins.
He thought it was pretty cool!

I am normally not a fan of cornbread but Kevin did an AMAZING job! They were yummy!

The chili was not bad either! It was the end to a perfect day off with my best friend!!

Blogging Fail

It's official... January was an epic blog fail! Not only did I not stick to my photo challenge but I didn't blog at all the second half of the month!

So this will be catch up post! The end of January was an exciting time! My older sister RER had her baby!!
He was born on the 30th and was 8lbs 12oz.

This is my new nephew!
Isn't he the cutest with his little mohawk?!

My hubby was a little hesitant to hold him at first but then I couldn't get Kevin to let anyone else hold him!
Such a cute uncle! And my mom "Gigi" looking on in the back.

We are so excited to be an Aunt and Uncle!

I have to say this might be my favorite picture of the little guy!

The rest of January was busy but nothing worth writing about! lol
I promise to get back into the habit of posting again!
