"O Christmas Tree"

It's finally here... It is finally Christmas season.

AND I finally had a day off to put up decorations. I was a little worried being in this new apartment that we wouldn't have room for our tree but luckily we were able to scoot our table in the corner to fit the tree! We probably won't be eating at the table for the next month but I'll take eating on the coffee table for the Christmas tree!

Last year for Christmas I was sick and miserable so I'm just going to consider this year the Hubby's and my first Christmas married. lol I got to put up all the tree ornaments that we got last year.

It wouldn't be right without our OSU ornament.

This was the ornament I got from one of my wonderful friends last year. I honestly think it's my favorite because it is simple and how could I not love that red ribbon!

I think this one was from the in-laws...but I was running a high fever for a week so I can't be 100% sure. And the Hubby doesn't remember as usual. Haha

This is my favorite little snowman that I got at a discount store in Stilly senior year at OSU. I don't know why but I think it is just the cutest little thing! You can't really tell in this picture but it's a little glittery/shimmery so that makes it even better.

And this is the Hubby's Dallas Cowboys Nutcraker. I quickly learned that this was not an option and had to be put out at Christmas time. lol My Hubby is such a goober!

I forget how much I love coming home to a lit Christmas Tree. It just makes my days so much better!! Now I just have to buy some more presents to wrap and put under it!

Thanksgiving Fun and Black Friday Craziness

I Love Thanksgiving!!

It is not as fun as Christmas but I do love the food! My favorite is the potato casserole my mom makes. She has to make two of them because everyone loves them! It is one of the few things that almost every single person goes back and gets seconds of. That and the chocolate pie!

It is always wonderful to go home and spend time with the family. Since our family is growing we tried something new and had everyone over to my parent's instead of having several different Thanksgiving meals at different houses. I didn't realize how much nicer it would be but it really was! I felt like we weren't rushing around like in the past.

I love this picture of our little family! Roxy was wearing her new little jacket that we bought her. She is such a cutie!

I wish we could have stayed longer and gotten to see some of our friends. I'm starting to see the cons of this retail job. lol I did luck out and didn't have to work opening on Black Friday so Kevin and I drove back home Friday morning and I worked ALL afternoon/night. I didn't get home until almost 2am... it sucked!! Almost everything that could have gone wrong went wrong. Our computers weren't working so our associates couldn't clock in, we couldn't keep track of how much money we were making, how many hours we had used, or to finish closing down the registers that night. It was a crazy day! All of us managers worked at least 13 hours straight that day. By the time we left I was ready to pull out my hair! haha

Black Friday early morning shopping is something I don't think I will ever completely understand. I like my sleep too much!

Diaper Cakes!

I am so excited for my nephew Karsten to be born. January 25th is the due date so it is coming up quickly! My sister had her first baby shower the week before Thanksgiving and I volunteered to make the diaper cake. I wish I was crafty so I attempt little crafts like this. I always end up disappointed in the end though because I can image these amazing things but I can never actually do them. haha

I tried really hard on this diaper cake and I think it turned out pretty cute. My sister is doing her nursery in like a jungle theme with dark browns, greens, and reds as well as zebra and cheetah animal prints. So cute! So I decided to stick with these colors for the diaper cake.

Roxy was watching the entire process! lol

I didn't realize how difficult it would be to find stuffed zebras and cheetahs. I looked everywhere and never found one! So I decided on the little finger puppets to put on it. It took me about 3 hours to make it even though it doesn't look like it by the final project. Haha

I didn't even get a picture of it at the shower! My sister is supposed to post some pictures from the shower so I'll try to post one with the topper then. For the topper I went with these cute little brown socks and mittens with little bears on them. I can't wait for Karsten to get to wear them!

"It's OK" Thursday 4

... to spend $50 on stripper shoes for my new pole aerobics class. Trust me, it's awesome, everyone should try it out if you haven't! lol

... to buy a 32 ounce soda after my new pole aerobics class.

...  to make someone switch shifts at work with me so I can go to my new pole aerobics class. Yes... I'm a little obsessed but seriously I have never worked out so hard in my life and hurt so bad the next day.

... to spend 3 hours watching "how to make a diaper cake" videos on you tube to then spend only 1 hour making it. I'll write a post on that little bit of craftiness later this week.

... to have more pictures of my puppy on my phone than of anything else.

... to be constantly thinking about the new "Breaking Dawn" movie. Twilight marathon next week and then going to see the new movie!! I'm excited!!

Our Trip to the Aquarium

Kevin and I have been so busy lately and we have had opposite schedules for the last two weeks so when we both finally had a day off together we decided to do something fun. Since we moved I have wanted to go to the Oklahoma Aquarium and the Hubby figured why not Monday. It drizzled for most of the day so it was something that we could go do and still be inside.

Before we went we had lunch at Pei Wei... it was DELICIOUS! After that we stopped at a few stores and then headed out to the aquarium. I was actually really impressed with it overall and they had a few places that they were doing construction on that will probably be really cool when they are finished.

These were the first beavers I have ever seen and they are actually pretty cute! They weren't as big as I was expecting and I'm not going to lie, I was a little disappointed with their front teeth. haha I mean that is supposed to be their most recognizable attribute other than their flat tail right? I couldn't even see them! lol

Next to the beavers there were two cute little otters. They never slowed down long enough for me to take a good picture but they were adorable. We waited a good 15 minutes watching them hoping that one of them would go down the rock slide in their habitat but they never did. It is crazy to see how graceful they are in the water and how fast.

After we looked at several other exhibits we decided it was time to venture over to the shark area. Now the Hubby and I are pro's with the sharks. We even swam with some on our Honeymoon so we were excited to see how this exhibit was set up considering the last time we had seen sharks there was nothing but water between us and them. The first thing we saw was this interactive computer activity where you could "feed the sharks". I made Kevin try it out. haha

They even took your picture so that your head was on the cartoon body while you "prepared" the food. I'm sure kids eat this up! lol

After playing on the interactive computer we went into the shark habitat. It is basically a big pool with a glass tunnel going through the middle so the sharks can swim not only by your side but above your head.

All of these pictures make me think of a shark horror film. haha Especially that last one with the light shinning on top of the shark. I'm not going to lie...that guy looks pretty scary to me.

The next guy is a nurse shark... this is the type of shark we swam with on our honey moon. They kind of look like human size cat fish.

This is a picture of the same type of shark on our honeymoon with one of the guides.

Yes, I was also inside that net with the shark and no he was not the only shark in there. I would take a guess that there were about 10 in the netted area although I can't be 100% sure because I was too busy having a panic attack! haha

Here is me in the shark diving cage.
I'm pretty sure I could be pulled right out of that thing if a shark got a hold of any part of my body. I do not plan on EVER going to look at any Great White's or Tiger Sharks in that thing!

After the sharks we saw one of my favorite sea animals... the Sea Horse! I love these little guys!
Almost all of them were pregnant so they had huge stomachs.

Here is a picture of the little baby one we saw. This little guy was about the size of a bobby pen.

I think the coolest looking are the glowing jelly fish. These things can ruin a great trip to the beach but they are fun to look at through the glass!

It was so great to spend the entire day with the Hubby and to go somewhere fun! I plan on going back when the habitats they were working on are finished.

I know this was a crazy long post but I had fun writing it and hope you enjoy reading it!

Christmas Already?

Yes... I said Christmas. It is official, my store is playing Christmas music and I am in NO WAY ready for it. Usually I am dying for Christmas music to start playing and when if finally does after Thanksgiving I love it! But it started last week and I am definitely not ready for it!

I am ready for Thanksgiving though. I can't wait to eat a big yummy meal!! My favorite food on Thanksgiving is the potato casserole. We always have to make 2 so that everyone gets some. A couple of years ago my aunt got put in charge of making it and she made 1 and used a small pan. Needless to say there were a lot of unhappy grandkids that year... VERY UNHAPPY! haha

It is going to be different from all previous years though because now that I am in retail I know I am going to have to work on Black Friday. Chances are I will be working in the morning that day too. Our mall opens at 4:00 AM on Black Friday which means I will have to be there by 3:00 AM! I just might die! lol The plus with working that early in the morning is that I'll get off by like 1 or 2 which means I can still come home and eat left overs and then take my day after Thanksgiving nap!

What If...

I saw this on my friend Rebekah's blog and I thought it would be fun! She always has such fun post that she finds all over the blog world.

What if I were to get pregnant? I would probably freak out, have a panic attack, and then realize what a blessing it was and how much I really wanted one. Haha

What if I could have any job in the world? I have no earthly idea! lol This is my problem now, how can I decide what I want to do when I don't even have a dream job!

What if I had a day to myself? I'm in agreement with Rebekah... SPA DAY! and I would do everything! Hair cut, facial, massage, pedicure, manicure, and anything else I could come up with! lol

What if I could get married all over again? I would elope... seriously. There was so much family crap that happened and I honestly feel like my wedding was more about that and the parents friends than about Kevin and me.

What if I could live anywhere in the US? Somewhere like Florida, Southern California, or one of the Carolinas. I HATE the cold and would love to never have to deal with it! haha

What if I were to have more children? Well I don't have any at the moment so if I have any I'll be happy...just not right now! lol

What if I could have any talent in the world? Be more athletic...I know it's not really a talent but it would be nice.

What if you met me in real life? I am probably just what you expect from reading my blog! lol

What if I went back to school? I would get a masters but I have no idea in what.

What if money weren't an object? Kevin and I would probably buy a house and a new car for him. I don't hate apartment life but it would be WONDERFUL to have more room. The car is more for the hubby...his is falling apart.

What if I could meet one celebrity? Um... I would be happy to meet almost any celebrity! Haha

What if I could only shop at one store the rest of my life? Again, agreeing with my friend Rebekah... definitely Super Target!

What if I could choose an animal/pet? I have my puppy Roxy which I love and would never give up! But one of our neighbors has a little 8 week old Yorkie and it is ADORABLE!! I would love to have one and I know Roxy would too! lol

What if I could go on a trip right now? I would take a little family vaca with the Hubby and Roxy to go visit my bestie Rebekah and her Hubby in Cali.

What if I had to choose between a house cleaner and a professional chef? 100% I'm going with the professional chef! I can't cook for the life of me!! I don't mind cleaning either so I would definitely choose the chef!

What if I had the option to get plastic surgery? I don't really want any plastic surgery right now... Lasik I would do right away though! And after I have kids I would take up the option to get plastic surgery to lift things. Haha
