FabFall Day 8

Day 8 - Fall Travel / Road Trips
Being newly married and only just moved more than 15 minutes away from any family we have not had any traditions yet for fall travel or road trips. This will be the first year we even have to take a little road trip for Holidays.
Here are a few pics from some of my road trips I have taken in the past.

Day 7 - Fall Recipes

Hello... My name is MaryBeth... and I am a cooking klutz.

You can ask the Hubby or any of my friends, cooking is EXTREMELY difficult for me and many have tried to change this but have all failed! So today I do not have a recipe that I cook often. It is actually a recipe that I have only cooked with other family members at Thanksgiving and Christmas.


 Great Grandmother's Noodles 

Ingredients

1 cup of flour

1 egg

1/4 - 1/2 tsp. salt

1qt. of chicken broth

1 egg shell of water

Directions

1. Mix together the flour, egg, salt, and water in a large mixing bowl.
2. Roll it out using a rolling pin so that it is about a quarter of an inch thick and cut it into strips that are about half an inch wide. 
3. Put noodles in boiling chicken broth.
4. Simmer or slow boil about 30 minutes.

My family likes to add chicken with them so we cook and cut up the chicken to add into it but it is really up to you whether you want the noodles by themselves or would like to add another type of meat to the recipe.  I know, I know stupid easy but yes...I have and will most likely mess this up. Haha I am THAT bad at cooking.

Day 6 - Fall TV Shows (new, returning)
As many of you may know... I am obsessed with several different TV shows. I am all about following the series from season to season. My husband and I have even been known to watch entire series on Netflix or get up to date on other shows so we are ready for the new seasons. This Fall I have several new and several returning shows that are permanetley scheduled on my DVR.
I figured I would divide them up and tell you why I like each one and which new shows I have started watching.
ReturningSitcoms
Big Band Theory

If you have never watched this sitcom you are missing out. When it first came out I thought it might be too stupid to be entertaining but honestly this show is just hilarious. It is a great show to sit down for 30 minutes at the end of a rough day for a good laugh.
How I Met Your Mother

I may offend some people with this comment but to me, this show is the new "Friends". I love it! It is another show that is a perfect little 30 minutes of laughing. I missed the first few seasons and even though I have seen some of the episodes I have missed on the 5:00 reruns this is still going to be a Netflix marithon with the hubby soon. 
Modern Family

This has become another favorite. It is one of those shows that there are little parts that remind you of your family but then crazy things that are just rediculously entertaining.

NCIS

This is one of those shows I started watching as reruns on the USA channel. What can I say... I got hooked. 

Hawaii Five-O

I was a little hesitant when we started watching this one because I had never seen the old version and I don't have high hopes for remakes. It did surprise me though at how good it was. If you haven't watched it and like a little adventure/excitement in your TV shows you should definitely check this one out.

Blue Bloods

This show is more about the characters and their lives than it is about the cases or the problems in the show. I really like this. It reminds me a little of "Brothers and Sisters" but in the first few seasons when it was really good. I haven't watched "Brothers and Sisters" for the last few years because it got a little too unrealistic and dramatic for my taste. 

Bones

This one won't be back until November but I am dying for to be back on. I might even go back and watch the last few episodes from last season just to make sure I remember everything that happened! 

Glee

This show is definitely different from all the other shows I have posted thus far. It is one of those shows that is really cheesy and not very believable but it is really fun and I love the music numbers. I have ALWAYS loved musicals like "Singing in the Rain" and anything that had Fred Astaire I was all in for watching! The great part about this show is I could NEVER get Kevin to sit down and watch a musical movie but for some reason he has no problem watching Glee. Haha I don't know if he would admit to it with his friends but it is true...he likes watching Glee.

New 

Sitcoms

New Girl

We watched the pilot episode this past week and it was really funny...stupid..but funny! I think it will get better as you get to know the characters better so I'm looking forward to see how this one plays out.

2 Broke Girls

I actually wasn't going to start watching this but Kevin decided to record it on the DVR just to see what it was like...and it was really funny. I don't know if it is one I would watch if I didn't have a way to tape it and watch it whenever I wanted to but it is funny and I will watch again. 

Whitney

This one hasn't started yet, it starts next Friday, but it does look pretty funny. I'm excited to see how it turns out.

Last Man Standing

Not going to lie... I know nothing about this show. It is just the new Tim Allen show and I know how much I loved "Home Improvement" back in the day so why not check it out!

Revenge

This was another show that I was not planning on watching but it came on after the hour season premiere of "Modern Family" this last week and I just couldn't turn it off. It was really good and I honestly think this might be one of my favorite new shows. It was so intense and they did a really good job of diving right into the plot. 

Sorry if this was too much reading for you all but I couldn't just post titles and pictures without a little dialog to go with it! 

My Little Bit of Craftyness

I showed you all this picture the other day and I told you that I wanted to try and do it for my bedroom wall.

Well, I did it and I'm actually pretty proud of it. I thought I would walk you through the steps I took to do it. 

Step 1 - Buy cheap dollar frames at the Dollar Tree. I chose black frames because the furniture in our bedroom is all black. I do love the lighter frames though.

Step 2 - Pick out some fun scrapbook paper at your local Hobby Lobby. I couldn't find enough individual papers to work so I bought this book with 180 pages. Figured it was a good purchase since they were having their 50% off on all scrapbook supplies... cost me $10.

Step 3 - Select the paper you want to use cut them down to size. Most picture frames are not the same size as a standard scrapbook paper so it will take some quick adjusting.

Step 4 - Place your newly cut paper into your dollar frames.

Step 5 - Hang your new wall art! 

I decided to leave a little space between each picture because you can't expect dollar frames to be perfectly straight on all the edges! Haha I found this out after I had hammered in a few nails..but what can you do? 

These pictures don't really do it justice since they were taken with my crapy phone but you get the idea. It was actually a fun and easy little craft!

FabFall Day 5

Day 5 - Things you are looking forward to for fall
One thing I am looking forward to for fall is spending more time with my Hubby. This is a picture of us at the golf course he works at on his birthday.

Since he works at a golf course when the sun starts setting earlier he gets to come home earlier and when the sun starts to rise later he gets to get ready with me in the morning instead of 2 hours earlier. I can't wait for this to start.
Getting to start wearing all my scarves. This one is my favorite!

That's my favorite coat too but it won't come out until it is a lot colder!

Getting to wear boots! I love boots! I just bought a new pair at Ross today. That store is a definite hit or miss but it was good today. 
I can't wait for Thanksgiving. Getting to eat all the yummy food. Carbs are my downfall. I love rolls!!

DAY 4 - Fall Decorating
I love fall decorations! If I could I would spend all my time in Hobby Lobby buying decorations! Here are a few I have found on the web that I might try to do in my own place.
